*The Listening Hour is an online story sharing process developed by Jonathan Fox, co-founder of Playback Theatre, and a world-renowned expert in personal narrative. The purpose of the Listening Hour is to engage in embodied storytelling and to find meaning and connection with others. Our stories hold wisdom and sharing them can build resilience in difficult times. Each Listening Hour session has up to 6 participants and consists of a short meditation/easy physical warm-up, story telling, and a reflection by the facilitator.
Playback Theater Open Rehearsal: Sunday June 9, 2019 2:30-4pm 250 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90012
Share your stories and see them re-enacted on the spot!
What is Playback Theater? It’s a form of improvisational theater that, like the Feldenkrais Method, involves deep listening. Playback Theater was developed by Jonathan Fox and Jo Salas in the 1970s and has since spread to be practiced internationally in schools, corporations, for peace and conflict work, and more. I’m a former member of The Living Arts Playback Theater Ensemble in the San Francisco Bay Area, directed by Armand Volkas, MFA, MA, MFT, RDT/ BCT, and I’m starting a new company in LA now! We’ve been working slow and steady since January and are starting to open our doors to the public!
